Liberation & Equity Consultant
Bio
Paġlagivsi! Welcme all! Uvaŋa Qallaq. I am Qallaq. My taniktun or English name is Tara Ramos. Katyaagmiuguruŋa. I am of the people of Kiana (AK). I am a wife and mother, an endo survivor, a community activist, and fighter for liberation of all people.
For the majority of my upright life I have been fighting for the rights of Indigenous people and ending anti-Indigeneity. But for the last twenty years I have also used my power as a writer, community activist, and consultant to help eliminate anti-Blackness, Anti-Asian hate, Transphobia, anti-GLBTQA2S, Ableism, and so much more.
I am a graduated from the University of Montana-Missoula for Journalism and a minor of Native American Studies in 2003. In 2014 I graduated with an MBA in Healthcare Management. And I am currently seeking my second bachelor’s in my traditional language, Iñupiaq, at the University of Alaska-Fairbanks.
Professionally I have been working in the non-profit sector for the majority of my career. I have worked for Indigenous-run nonprofits in Washington state though I have also worked for more mainstream nonprofits giving me experience dealing with internalized White supremacy, anti-Blackness, Anti-Indigineity, and more.
